Assembly was easy as the instructions were straight forward, and it works perfectly with my dtx500. Based on my research it also has three positions open, closed, and semi open, but my dtx500 only detects open and closed. So, while it will never replace a real hi hat, it certainly comes as close as you can get with an e kit. Ride and crash are very good but the cymbal pad is amazing, like a real cymbal delivery and package perfect every thing was perfect totally brilliant.

What an improvement over the pcy65 the pie cymbals. Super happy overall.

You can also play foot splashes, and this works brilliantly with my older dtx500. But it really does not feel like the real thing. They are also choke able, and this works really, really well.

Verified purchase recently bought a used Yamaha dtx500 that came with the pie shaped cymbals and the stock hi hat that consists of an OK pedal mechanism and a regular drum pad. First, the cost of the bundle is less than buying the parts individually. The package comes with the rhh135, the HS 650a hi hat stand, and two pcy135 3 zone cymbals. The pcy135s are brilliant.

The HS 650a hi hat stand it of high quality and looks great. The action feels great and foot splashes are easy and feel natural.

Bottom line buy it. I am using it with double bass pedals, and though not ideal due to the setup and positioning of the legs, it works well and can be used.
