Another key screw on the arm that connects pedals would keep it from pulling apart. These double bass drum pedals are working, but missing some parts that would make this set complete. Also the left pedal does not have a spring, which would provide more resistance. Replacement screws and springs are available online from a number of vendors for pretty good prices 3-9 bucks.

The right pedal is missing a screw where it connects to board. I'm not certain that those are the only missing parts but they ones I could find after extensively looking it over and comparing photos.
